Let's see your boats for 2017
Alright guys, so it's that time of the year again to work on the boats over the winter and drool at the new stuff at the boat shows. What's everyone got planned for 2017?
Mine is tucked away in the shop for now, winter plans:
New Trophy Plus Prop
Lift the motor 2" off the transom
New Motorguide Xi5
Lowrance Elite 7ti or HDS9 depending on budget.

I have been taking part in an online kayak fishing tournament this year and I should win the top prize which is one of these mirage drive inflatable kayak/SUP combinations. I can't wait to try it out and am hoping it will be good for flying to destinations such as visiting family in Florida and tournaments in eastern Canada/US.

Hopefully I'll get mine out on the water a little more than I did this year. Barely 12 hours added to the hour meter this year.

Very interesting inflatable kayak. I watched some youtube video, looks like it is very stable on the water. How much would it be?

Yes being a SUP style design it will be very stable. I have seen guys stand right up at the front and walk around on them in videos/reviews.
As with all Hobie mirage drive boats it is pretty pricey. Austin kayak sells them for $2150 USD so to buy one up here I am guessing it would probably be $2800-3000 CAD.
It is a neat design and I hope it works out good. Heavy as far as inflatable goes so it won't be much help for remote lakes(although easier to cart around then a full size kayak I guess) but for people that don't have garage space etc it would be a good boat.

How well does it track in the wind?
Just looking at it appears it could be very frustrating in the wind. Kind of like flat bottomed zodiacs.

16' Explorer jon with a 25hp prodrive. Not much on the go with my rig over the winter. I'd like to get a trolling motor of some sort for it and i need to modify the my rock guard so it will function a bit better. Mainly i just can't wait to get it back on the water.

Hoping to get a few good trips in my Oldtown Next.
Only managed two trips last year and once I was used to the double blade it went well.
May try to get a nice clipper or something similar this summer. My small Next is the day trip exploring canoe. Maybe some scouting before hunting season starts but then bring in the clipper for the real deal 7 day trip. We will see what the minister of finance says.

Well nothing new on my Ranger other than I sold it which was very painful. Left coast way more enjoyable than our lakes. Best fishin boat I have ever had..

On the ocean boat I added a removable canvas top to the back. Now we just find a small cove, toss the anchor anywhere we want and camp right on the water.
Lodges want $250-$350 night ea. save way more cash to spend on fuel, gear and bait. Best experience ever!!

Given the current state of the economy I might wait till next year lol.
Even my 1875 whitewater amazes me where it will go! The thing I will miss is the fuel economy my boat has. The Yamaha just sips gas!

Going to put that on my boat when I get it! I will drive it once stock then put that on so I can compare. The posi nozzle works good? Can you throw a good shower tower?
