Default Travers Reservoir

Travers Reservoir

Hello I am trying to get some info on this reservoir. Some people say this is a good place to fish. My father in law went there yesterday and he says i am bull s.... him he says there is no way people can fish on there. He says there is a large pipe spewing water out by the dam. maybe he was at the wrong spot.

any help would be appreciated..

he lives in carmangay

Thanks in advanced

Its a big lake but have had decent luck fishing the northeast arm of lake where the canal comes in. Also lots fish around the boat launch at little bow prov park around the piling for the dock. People that know the lake do very well on it but its a big lake and might take time.

The ice where the lake drains ( big pipe spewing ) is always dangerous there. BUT go straight North and that shoreline produces some big Pike and I have also caught a couple of 8lb Rainbows there. Find the drop off. it goes from 10' of water to 60' in a matter of yards.

You can drive down to the shore of Travers by the Little Bow canal dam. I'm not big on driving on Travers as this is always the last lake to freeze. I have been on 24'' of McGregor ice then headed over to Travers ( South / East end ) and it had 4'' of weak ice. When ice fishing Travers i just drive real tight to the shoreline. If you want to fish the drop off just drive on where the dam is and follow the shore till it becomes the first point. Walk out at a 90 degree angle from shore about 10 yards and the drop off starts there.
