Default 2016 Ice Conditions Thread

I figured a thread like this would be useful to consolidate all of the other threads asking about different lake's ice conditions. If there's already one of these hiding around somewhere, please delete this thread.

Has anyone been out to Blood Indian yet?

twin valley: last Tuesday nov 24th, I fished an open water lake, two days later it skinned with ice. I would not trust the ice at twin.
pcr is half frozen, I would not trust the ice at pcr.
considering our daytime highs and the big winds the next few days for s alberta, ice making doesn't look promising for those of a stout body frame, or skinny folk for that matter.

keho inlet about 7-8 inches really nice ice, other parts of the lake had frozen, thawed and re-frozen into and ugly landscape or icescape.

a friends dugout a bit more south had the smoothest blackest most perfect ice at about 6 inches.

Drove by gull earlier. Didn't look too thick.
Anyone dared to venture on the ice and check the thickness yet?

Lake Newell measured about 9" in a shallow SW bay. Warm temps and strong winds are starting to melt top ice. We need more cold temps.

Was on Emerald today and it's losing ice, opening in the center and flooding. Be careful out there.

Seriously though... if it keeps people a little safer its worth it to have another post.

Was out at Dickson trout pond on Dec 03rd, nice sunny warm day +4C, went out to were no one was fishin before, punched 4-5 holes through 3.5 to 4 " ice and after 1/2 hour I was floating in over 1" of flood water .... uncomfortable. Last night the temp rose to +5C and it didn't go below 0, today forecast is another +5C .... not good for ice conditions ... be careful on this small pond.

I'd imagine it's thick. Same size pond on the south west end of town has been plowed with a atv and has had kids ice skating and play in hockey on it for days.
