Default Outdoor ultrasonic pest control device, recommendations

Anyone used one of these devices? Looked online, reviews are all over the place pretty much with any/all of them...

Looking for a backyard application to keep the hares from digging up my yard.

If anyone uses one, does it work and would you recommend?

Thanks

Peter

I had some of the solar stake-style ones; they weren't ultrasonic, but they would just vibrate periodically. I'm not sure if they helped.

I do use Critter-Ridr to keep cats out of my yard, which works on skunks and rabbits as well. Just expensive. Bobbix has a (stinky) product that is supposed to work well too.

The granules?

If so, I've tried similar but they get washed away with the rain... Which is why I'm looking for an alternative.

That's right, the granules is what I use.

It gets expensive and time-consuming to reapply, that's for sure. I can definitely see why you are looking for another solution.

Default Anything like that work on dogs?

I’d be interested to know if anyone has had experience with something like this controlling the neighbourhood barking dogs? We have 3 sets in our area. If our windows are open, the ones next door bark when we flush the toilet, turn on the drip coffee pot and even when I’m shaving now. Great dane and some kinda Boxer cross.

Thoughts?

I looked into getting these because of the hype. But looked into the science and it’s unproven.

It’s very easy to do a study on effectiveness but there isn’t anything credible.

It’s right up there with UV light mosquito attractors. I tested those myself and they failed miserably.

I found studies before but didn’t look them up this time.

I’d save your money.

The solar powered buzzer type definitely don't work. The gophers dug their hole right beside them. Vinegar and dryer sheets don’t work either.
