Yes. Fly Reels are not built to mil-spec. or aircraft-spec.

So why is Hardy not building them in China?

According to my MechEng. fishing buddies Korea is 10-15 years ahead of North America in computerized machining, die and tool making.

Not that old late 60's only 100 Limited Edition Hardy Bougle Mk IV made though so they are rare, here my matching one piece 6 foot Lee Wulff bamboo rod.
