Anybody else mind divulging the types of flies they're having luck with on the river?

Thanks!
Matt.

Success with dries are limited. You may have luck in the riffles with the standard caddis. Along the bank small hoppers works for a short window. Nymping with imitator patterns work best. Deep. 0.12mm and smaller tippet (6x). Small nymphs 14, 16, 18, 20. Match the water colour/light intensity. Neutral/natural colours. I'll check tomorrow if the rain had any impact on the water.

HI all,

I tried yesterday up past the falls as we were camping at bluerock. No luck. Didn't see anything either.

Any one know if there is anything upstream of sheep river falls?

Thanks!

Yes, there are. With the steeper gradient, the water being clear, and with less nutrients, the fish are a bit smaller. You'll find more bulls - but some areas are pretty challenging to reach, and it can be downright dangerous if you happen to slip/swim. Given the current level though, probably the best chance in years though. Can be really tough to cast in some sections - the trees love leaders and multi-fly rigs. The easily accessible/visible sections tends to be pretty barren.
Try the section in BlueRock, below the little fall halfway to the bridge.

Fenix_84 and myself fished a 2.5km section lower down on Saturday. Probably 30-40 fish between us, again all sizes. Predominantly wihitefish, some decent rainbows, and a brown.
