still water rainbows
What's your fave patterns to use for still water rainbows ? I want to try some new patterns this year. I normally use green damsels, wooly buggers, muddler minnows, some chronomids, hopper, and caddis any other suggestions?

Prince nymph, leech patterns, and chronomids under an indicator. Doc Spratley for stripping or slow trolling.

chironomids. 75% of the time. Leeches 10%, Dragons 5%, Scuds 5%, Mayflies 5%.
Depends with season, but chironomids are staple.

What do I use for still water rainbows?
I am probably too stupid to know I am doing anything wrong - but I use an egg pattern with a SLOW retrieve. Try to follow any possible water movement toward a low end of the pond or lake, alternatively any spot where water enters the pond or lake.

Conehead leech on a floating line, or floating leech on an intermediate sink line, chironomids or scuds under an indicator.
