Lots of good brands. I use a Truball? Lots seem to like Scott releases.

Are you looking at a back tension, thumb or resistance release? I like the carter but I am partial to Scott myself. I am thinking about picking up a longhorn hunter.

I have a carter honey-do hinge, imeant I was looking at their trigger releases, I used to own a carter attraction thump/pressure realease and it was a solid release that cured my target panic real quick

scott short and sweet.

I like it because it's a sweet release and it's also short so it doesn't mess up my draw length or form.

Default Scott

I think that Scott makes an awesome line of releases. They have great triggers and make a release for every one. They have single caliper, dual caliper and hook style. Buckle or velco. Solid or strap, long or short and every combination you can think of.
I am shooting a Mongoose and really like it!

...Just avoid the cheaper ...entry level type ...great for youth but will only cost you more in the long run...

Strangly enough the most expensive were noisier and not as true shooting as one may hope...The mid range $100.00 releases faired the best for true center shot, quiteness and reliability..

the Scott, trueball, etc as mentioned above in the mid range really worked well...

I was super impressed with the Fletchunter I personally use...
