Default my wifes first deer and my youngest sons first buck

much to my delight my wife decided to hunt somethinbg bigger then chickens this year as she said hunting is something we can do as a whole family last year my 2 boys started rifle hunting and each got a pair of does so this year my wife said she wanted in the hunting scrap book with a deer or 2 as well and she did it she has never been a big fan of guns bigger then a 22 so for her to start shooting the 243 this spring was pretty good she shot her doe while sitting one night at 80 yards away she dumped it where it stood and could not beleive the excited feeling she had and said she can't wait to try for a buck.
my youngest son shot this buck during a push with mom sitting with him his first shot was at 70yards with the buck slightly quartering away coming down a slight grade they said the buck didn't even react to it the second shot was 40 yards perfectly broadside and he went straight down I'm sure that with all the excited hollering and carying on that occured the next piece of bush had no deer in it anymore that day. The first shot put a hole through the front shoulder blade and came out high on the same side by the spine i was quite surprised that the hole in and out was no bigger then the bullet it self the second shot did the job the first shot should have
i have shot a lot of animals but last year and this year are becoming the best hunting times for me seeing my boys and my wife shoot their first ever animals and next year my daughter starts hunting as well so it can only get better.

Buck, that is great man. Good on wifey for wanting to join in the fun, and huge props to Tyler for a great buck and awesome shooting. Well done to all, and hopefully next year we can read about your daughter getting her first deer. I tip my hat to you sir! Well done.

Congratulations to your wife and your son. It's great to see families out hunting together. That's a great buck your son got, and hope your wife gets a dandy for her first too!

Default thanks for all the kind words

my oldest son douglas got his first buck this weekend and i had to laugh he was so excited
we had seen a nice buck go into a bush and we went around and sat on a cut line waiting for it when a doe came out followed by a smaller buck with four small points on one side and a split knob on the other they came our way and turned broadside at about 50 yards to cross the cut line i said to my son if your patient the big buck will come out soon and he said nope dad this one will do so i said well if your sure then take it boom he took it he was using his 243 he don't care about the size of rack as long as it has horns or in this case one horn more or less thats good enough for him and me it has been awsome so far this season hear is my oldest sons buck

Default my wifes first buck and my biggest muley buck to date

this season has been the best so far for me beeing able to watch my wife and kids shoot their first ever bucks my wifes buck she spotted coming across a stubble feild amoungst the staw bales with nose to the ground thankfully we had permission to hunt this quarter we parked got out and set up next the bush in the direction he was headed and had a short wait he topped the hill around 150 yards way and was coming our way at about 100 yards out the wife said make him stop moving so i can shoot so i gave a doe bleat but he didn't stop walking instead he tossed up his head and started to trott right at us she said i wanted him to stop not come right to us we where lucky he had only one thing on his mind at the time as the wind was from us to him but he kept coming and their was six of us sitting side by side the father inlaw and an older buddy of his my wife, me and are 2 youngest
at 50 yards he still hadn't slowed down so i said to the wife he's not stopping so it's up to you to make him stop boom he jumped straight up and kept coming a little slower i bleated once more and he started to trot right at us again boom down he went for good everyone was super stoked that she got him and amazed at how sinle minded they can be in full rut as after being hit the first time he just kept coming both shots hit him square in the chest and the second shot was deffinatly not needed as his heart was done (he was dead on his feet but to horny to notice i quess) unfortunaltly my camera was at home so pics where taken when we got home we only seen 2 whitetail bucks all day no does and only a few muley does so it's a good thing she got this one
my buck was shot the week before in a feild we had been hunting all season only to have to watch them out and about in the next feild over that we couldn't hunt finally they where feeding in this feild and i got him at 200 yards standing watching the does when i shot him he went straight down and 6 does ran right up to him and didn't leave till we walked up to him then they trotted off my buck has 4 on each side and both brows but one tine is broke off about 2 inches from the main beam this is the biggest muley so far that i have been fortunate enough to take
