Default Best time of the year to float fish the Bow

What is the best time of year to float-fish the Bow River from Fish Creek Park to the Carsland Weir (2 days)?

My bros and a friend are interested in doing it this year.

Any recommendations on a guide?

Mike Venhuis with fish tales, the guy is not only an amazing guide and fisherman, but he is also just a pleasant guy to spend time with in the boat, personally I prefer to fish in July right after run off ends during the stonefly hatch, that or sometime in the fall when the big browns are in the city...

I'm with SouthWestRanger on the best time to fish is just after runoff, which often is right around the time the Calgary Stampede starts. The fish have been struggling with high water flows for a few weeks and are HUNGRY.

No other comments? How is the Bow since the big floods of 2013?

The Bow is half as good as it used to be pre-flood

Agreed, but not sure the flood is the main reason.

I have a buddy that got skunked twice last year on floats.
A guide is now worth the money as before the flood, people knew the river but that has now changed and fewer people are having the "stellar" days of years gone by.
