Is the launch open at the Crawling Valley Campground now?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Yes it's open. There were boats tied to the docks last weekend. Water level looks fine. Go have fun!

The launch is open, the fish are biting and the legendary May long bug hatch is in full swing.

Enjoy

Does the hatch go on throughout the summer or it dies out after a couple weeks? Was there on Saturday and it was crazy!

It lasts 2 to 3 weeks with the peak usually during the May long weekend. There are other hatches during the summer but none that rival this one. It's the base of the food chain which makes the lake such good fishing so you put up with it or stay away for 3 weeks each spring.

Surface Water Temp over the weekend varied from 48 to 51 degrees F dependent upon where you were. Youngish Grand Kids and friends were bothered by the midges, but they were not that bad in a little wind.

Thanks for the info! I didn’t mind at all, but others in the boat were not having any of it haha
