Default Proof of Age

I know someone that turned 65 this year, what is required to show that purchasing a fishing license is no longer required?

Any government issued ID that shows a DOB.

The best is an expired fishing license. Govt issued and has date of birth. Go to Alberta Relm and print off an expired license

Is it mandatory to keep proof of age on your possession? No. If you have a reference that says otherwise please provide it. I have no problem with providing my age but to say that I must carry around government ID smacks of "show me your papers".

Do you not carry around a drivers license in your wallet?

I am not 65 and when the fisheries guys come around they always ask "show me your papers/license". Been out with older guys obviously over 65 and they were asked for id.

Does a 15 year old need to produce proof of age?

Another thing that has not been mentioned is proof of residency. If we mandate that proof of age is required, then we must also mandate that proof of AB residency is also required. I'll just continue to use my expired fishing license from 2019/2020. An unsigned one too lol.

If someone has to ask this question then it is already a miracle they made it to 65. I'm with SaskHunter, just go!
