I seen a car on it last week. I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a shack or 2 out there already. It was 10 inches last week, so it’s quite likely it’s 15 by now. Minus 37 yesterday morning, with little snow, so I’d Guess it’s good.
I’m going to try and head out there in a day or 2, and I’ll drive by and know if there’s shacks out for sure.

You can walk on and catch fish. Sometimes better than other places, sometimes not. Straight out from the launch, or to the right / south. You’ll see the path and holes. If you walk right try for spots out from shore Bush. Not a must, but seems to work for me. As shallow as 3 feet, often 6 feet to 14 feet. Sometimes deeper.

What's your plan in the event of a break down? Serious question. With these temperatures and no winter gear you wouldn't last long.

Yep, all good until something goes wrong.

Crappy timing on this cold snap. Starting today and the next 2 days it looks like a bit to cold for much to function well. I'm not planning on going out in this. Looks like the 31st should be back to sane temps. Good luck to all that do venture out before that.

iFish reports of 12 inches on Xmas day with Shacks out. People always go out too early there IMO. You could be ok in a 1/2 ton, and it’s likely grown since then.
I want 16-18 before I’ll pull my 3/4 ton out there. Eagle ice is pretty uniform, at least on the west end where I fish.

I'm driving out to the deep water now. There was 17" of ice in 32ft of water. I'd say you're good but use respect & keep it slow. To many wing nuts are just ready to give 'era now. I've seen a few 1 tons on the ice in the last couple days.

Oh right on it was about a week ago I seen someone post that the bays were all froze but the big lake was still open but lots of ice chunks floating. It must be sealed now with this deep freeze.

Yep walleye and pike steady, saw some whites crusing higher in the water column but as usual couldn’t get them to look at my lure.

15 inches in the south point of McGregor (Milo), some spots that were open water 2 weeks ago are still only 8 inches. Fishing was hot for walleye until the snow stopped then things died right out. No whites see at all today......and no trout this time

Eagle was 15 inches 2 days ago. Trucks and shacks out. Even seen a 1 ton with a big slide in camper on it. Skunked at my new spot, but was only out 3 hours and half the time dealing with issues.

Nice Curtis! I like the ruler on the side of your shack. Great idea.

I think it is about 20 inches on most lakes in Central now. I didn't measure Pigeon but it is getting really deep ice too. So glad this year I finally got auger extensions. This might be that year where they will be fully needed. No snow in the forecast...
