Looking at options for undersubscribed mule deer doe tags for a hunt with the wife. Unfortunately they are all in areas I have no experience with. I have no problem scouting but I have to make a choice before the tags are not available

I hate to even ask because I am a believer in doing my own homework. I still plan to go scout things out once a choice is made

How is the mule deer populations in 228 and 230?

I assume both areas are mostly private land so talking to landowners and crossing my fingers will be part of the problem

If you have anything you would be willing to share regarding mule deer in these areas I would appreciate it

I know 228 has great numbers, put the I hunter app on your phone and buy the map for the area you are hunting

228 has a healthy population. The land is pretty much all private, and permission is hit and miss for big game, it is much easier for waterfowl.
