Default crawdads

when i was younger travers used to have a large crawdad population. then as years went by i could only find them in specific spots. there is still quite a few in the canal between travers and LBR. Lately ive seen a few trying to steal bait on the lake. Anyone else?

I can't speak to Travers, I've never been there...

But I CAN say I found a massive number of shed crayfish/crawdad skins in the NSR valley this past summer.

Until this year, I didn't even know we HAD crayfish in alberta!

Usually find them around Fort Sask too on the NSR.

Yes! Lots in the spillway arm. Especially right along the south/east ends rocks that go around past the bible camp. And you will catch lots on your minnows at the bottom right at the spillway later in summer into fall. Also, LOTS in Newell. Especially around the point at the launch, bird island, and jackfish bay.

I may have to try and get me some this year. I ate a tonne of them down in Mobile and they are fantastic!! One of the guy's from Louisianna would bring in a 50lb sack once a week and we would have a big boil for lunch!! Mighty fine stuff!!!
