Need some recommendations

Hey guys, the wife and I had planned on going to kinbasket lake on the valemount side for a 9 day camping trip , with all the forest fires and fire bans where starting to think that we should maybe head to Saskatchewan. We have never been there and was wondering what campgrounds /lakes that are worth checking out , preferably less then 7 hours away from edmonton

meadow lake provincial park is nice and has tones of camping at the different lakes.
