Question Help with wiring please

Hi there. Fairly new here. I was wondering if anyone can help me out with wiring my camper to truck.
I have a 96 GMC 1/2 ton 5.7 4x4 (not sure if that is all relevant but there it is
I currently have no power to the camper at all. The guy I bought it from has a bunch of wires and a toggle fuse panel in the camper but it is spagetti and I have NO idea what the heck he has done. He also has a cig lighter outlet wired in the camper. From the camper there is a flat two prong/male/female plug that he said was for the clearance lights. He had put a 12V battery inside the camper for power.
Is this hopeless or should I just take it to an RV outfit? Would like the keep cost down if I can

if he had one inside you should be able to hook up there.
did you find the terminals to hook up a battery inside the camper.?
i would check that out first. the 12 volt plug could be a power
supply from the battery inside or a hookup for a solar cell if you want.
you did not say where you are.

not sure where you are but ive spend 14 years digging through that type of spagetti and i generally have no problems making it work, if you are interested let me know, i have a shop on the south side of edmonton, and i can also do most of that stuff mobile.

yes, there are wires to hook up a battery inside but i want to run a 12V cooler and it has been suggested to me that i need to have a 5 or 7 prong plug in in the box of my truck to run the camper off of my truck. Make sense?

a 12v cooler will kill your battery in a few hours.
at least all the ones i used in the past did.
you would not want it hooked to your truck start battery
you need a solenoid & deep cyle battery added to the system.
personally i would get a coleman extreme cooler(work awesome) i have 2.
forget the12 volt one & hook up a battery inside the camper for lights etc.

just my opinion
