Default Wondering about badger and area?

Hey guys was wanting to go ice fishing on Badger, but I live in Kananaskis.
Is a bit far to just drive out and hope there is ice. Any suggestions. Really want catch some pike and maybe walleye but have very little expirience? All suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I was there on Sat.(Dec 6). There was 10"of ice (north end). 2" of snow. Caught 2 pike 6 bites. Beautiful day. Was warm yesterday, plus 10C today with chinook wind. There could be water on Badger now.

What kind of set up and bait were you using? I'm not much of a pike fisherman, mainly fish trout. Also have just got my auger this year, only been ice fishing a couple of times? Any help you could give me would be great. Thanks for the reply
