Ice will be fine. Good luck out there, I hear the perch are starting to get a bit sluggish.

Same thing happened there last year this time of year as well. 3 of us landed 3 fish all day with cameras as well. Just that time of year in some of the weedy lakes.
They made it through till summer and will this year as well.
The other side of the lake had a bad kill last year. I have pics of all the dead belly up fish on camera. Happened in January last year

They're just tired of the winter. I think that it's been a good one for them this year and winterkill won't be much of a problem. We're supposed to have a bit of rain starting Saturday and continuing for a few days. It won't be long now and when the ice is off they'll be pretty frisky!

Was out at Nakamun on Sunday and we didnt catch or see any perch. Only fish we saw all day were Pike, each one about 6-12" below the ice. Caught 3 Pike about 14-16" each. Slow day.

HI, Willow
I never saw dead fish due to winterkill. How bad is it? Can you find the pic and post it so I could be educated.

If you have a fish tv you can see them belly up on the bottom. Last year about this time I spent half a day fishing with not as much as a bite. Someone with a fish tv came out and showed me dead trout on the bottom of the lake. They just look like dead fish.......pale and bloated.
