That’s terrible news. I started sledding in the mountains back in 1978 when you were lucky to make it out of the tree line. Now the sleds basically go anywhere. I have triggered 2 substantial avalanches in my life and was always riding worried about this. I got lucky. I quit sledding in 2015.

Although it is easy to be really critical of people who do this kind of thing, to be honest, we have ALL done things that we knew were risky and most of the time we got away with it.........

We should hope that this person rests in peace and extend our sincere condolences to family and friends, as they are grieving the loss of a father, husband, brother, son, and friend, and that, I am sure, is a big burden for many folks.

I have been thinking of all the risky things I’ve done in the past in the mountains and a lot of them I was by myself and I never told my wife where I was going. Looking back on it, not smart at all!!
