Default R.I.P Jimmy Mc.

With a heavy heart and tears in my eyes I sadly inform those who knew Jimmy of his untimely passing on Aug 24th.

Jim was a husband, father, friend, business owner and avid sportsman.

He leaves behind a wife, 3 sons, his mom and dad, as well as many friends colleagues, and aquantances.

Any one who ever met Jim knew him for his kindness, and willingness to help.

He and his wife stepped up big time at our Annual Rifle Rodeo with help and the un called for donation of all the food and drink.

Jim taught me the finer art of butchering, and sausage making, in turn, I began his passion with hunting and reloading.

I'm going to miss you buddy.

Here is a news story about his passing:

Highway 881 collision claims life
Wednesday, 24 August 2011
A collision on highway 881 has ended in tragedy.

Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a head-on collision, south of Conklin at approximately 2:45 pm this afternoon.

A south bound gravel truck collided head-on with a tanker truck near mile marker 168.

The driver of the tanker truck was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other motorist was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say, according to witnesses, a blown out tire on the gravel truck may have caused the driver to swerve into oncoming traffic.

Highway 881 will remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.

I couldn't believe the news when you told me. It was only a few days ago that all of us were enjoying a day of fellowship, great weather, and a little shooting. Things can change just that fast. Rest in peace Jimmy. My deepest condolences to the family.

What a shame.....

Jim was one of the finest kind of people one could have the pleasure of knowing.

May he rest in peace.

still in disbelief, just met jimmy for the time at this year's rodeo. we hit it off well, he was kind enough to donate burgers, steaks, and refreshments for everyone at the shoot.
the next day he was even kind enough to let kimberman park his trailer at his place(after meeting him for the first time the day before), while we went and loaded his bulls from pasture.
it was an honor and a pleasure to meet you jimmy, as well as your wife and the kids, and to share a whisky with you. have a seagrams for me buddy, i know i'm going to have a couple for you, lee

The picture sure tells a lot.
Cool, wet. steamy, tired and maybe a little ****ed off.
But rapture and contentment all the same with the little spike.
A truly great picture and a cosmic memory of your friend.
Thanx for sharing. A totally awesome memorial.
The good die too young.

Nah, never seen him ****off..... well only at politicians!
Little buck was his first bow kill, we tramped around in that little jungle for a couple hours before we found it not 50 yds from where it was standing when he shot it!

Pardon me for finding this thread a little late.

Duceman let me know of Jimmy's passing and I instantly my heart fell like a lump. I just met him at the rifle rodeo and what a stand up guy, a real class act. He bought us all lunch and supper that day and when I thanked him personally all he said was "I just want everybody to have a good time". We certianly did Jimmy. While I didn't know him long I'm sure glad I did. His hospitaility extended to the next day when I used his yard for a parking spot and right away I knew that if I was ever in his neighborhood I could call on him.

To his family, I'm very sorry for your loss and I hope you find the stregnth you need. To the fellows at Drayton, you were all very lucky to have known him (but you know that) and I'm also sorry for your loss for it was a great one.

One last comment...... He sure knew how to make a campfire!
