Seriously considering trading in my 07 for a new 2012 Ecoboost. My sister test drove and is buying a 2013 Escape with Ecoboost... fun SUV. I took an Ecoboost for a test drive and was impressed with the power.

Anyone looking for an 07 F150 with 68k on it??

the hemi is a selling feature, it does have oommph! but the power train problems on a dodge ram 1500 is a little too scary for me, and I don't find their fit and finish to be that nice. (unless you pop big bucks for a Laramie) and in my opinion a gas Chevy has absolutely nothing to offer. the Tundra isn't hard on the eyes either... I'd hate the gas bill though on that big engine

Thats kind of the conondrum I went through. Looked at a Tundra and got talked out of it. chev/GMC will probably go bankrupt and the styling didn't do anything for me.
Kept hearing good things about the EB and have driven lots in Fords for work without any issues.
Its my first new vehicle, so I'm pretty happy. Be happier when the damn thing is paid off. Love the zoom. Just have to pay attention.

No you won't should be no cost since they all should still be under warranty except for the high milge drivers maybe.

I love my Eco not going to say i will beat anyone or such but pulls like a mother and seems to get better milage every long trip. I got 12000 km and drive to Lyod lots got 20 us mpg last trip not bad for a full size truck.

I have not my best friend does and a guy at work does. Nice trucks. What is the towing rating and pay load for those. My best friend was hard to pry out from behind the wheel of my ford.

Used to drive one for work.I liked it. But its ride is not as nice as the Ford. But no question that Toyota's engines are bulletproof

Pretty good for a truck. Nothing to write home about for a little car. Forced induction's definitely the way to go, (taking everyone long enough) though no doubt it's probably a little soft right off the bottom before the turbos spool up?

What's all the talk about 5.0 liter? Is Ford making a 302 cid again?

Drive one...you have no clue....
They are fast...fastest 1/2 tons built
They pull better than any 1/2 ton built with no shifting or revving
As good or better mpg than all 1/2 tons, especially unloaded.
Quiet too
No turbo issues to date with hi mileage trucks.
As with everything else if it's new something will go wrong
Personally after 40k it's the best 1/2 ton I've ever owned and will never go back to a V8...it is that good

Ive got one in my garage right now. Dealer let me have it for the night. Went and hooked my trailer up to it and WOW.. very impressed in how it pulls.

Wife likes the fact that its quiet which is a plus too.

I think mine is too quiet. Going to have to do something about that. Thinking Flowmaster duel exaust and Air Raid intake cold air. Boost HP and torque significantly also. Bonus.

You might take this back if they start to turbo the V-8's.

Own a Tundra , nobody can convince me th Ford is a better truck
The extra 2 litre per hundred my Tundra burns well worth being in 10X the truck.

Default towing

Anyone with the 5.0L tow any thing? what about the EB? I have read the specs but that is just numbers i would rather hear from someone who was pulled a 27ft holiday trailer west on hwy 3 into the wind.

I have an 07 hemi and i pull a 25ft bumber pull toy hauler with a quad in the back. The trailer is about 6000lbs loaded without water. Hemi pulls it great but i have to stop every 300k for fuel. 7 or 8 mpg pulling the trailer and 11 -12mpg hwy going 120km/hr.

Just pulled 2200km with a similar bumper pull trailer. Not a toy hauler but a jayco 25bhs with the large slide. 7 to 10 mpg towing down highway 40 from GP to Hinton then down the icefields parkway out to Rocky. Back up the 4 lane to north of Edmonton then up Hwy 43 to GP area. Worst mileage was Hwy 43 home. In a rush and had the foot in to it a bit too much. Cost me a $130 from Whitecourt to Rycroft.

Empty getting around 20 to 22 mpg (US) with less than 10K km on a 2012 F150 EB. Wind didn't bother it, hills were a piece of cake and loving the integrated trailer brake and the engine assist braking. Previously pulled same trailer with a 2009 Ram 2500 4X4 with the hemi. Getting the same mileage towing and almost 40% better on highway and I think the Ford pulls the trailer way better and much more comfortable.

I won't knock another brand of vehicle but do love the EB. The amount of room in the cab of the truck is unreal.

I'm towing with the 5.0. Have done a little over 500 km trailering and consider the fuel consumption reasonable. About 23 litres per 100. Have a Timber Ridge 4 season (29 ft) and close to 7500 lb loaded. It tows very well up the Red Deer river hills and I've been to Camrose via 56 which is one of the worst paved roads in Alberta. I had a GM 3/4 6 litre and this outfit tows just as well. The power difference compared to the Eco Boost is not very much. Ordinary driving I average below 14 to a hundred depending on city or town. It certainly doesn't get the advertised 27-29 MPG but 21-24 is doable. I drove Gm for 22 yrs before this and so far I like it. Very driveable and quiet. May have a 2011 Camry for sale soon.

if they come out with a twin turbo v8 in an f150 I think I would definatly want to own one would be like having a sportscar with the utility of a truck. Until then Eco-boost stays in the garage.

I have talked to a few friends who have the 5.0l. The one has pulled the same trailer with his work eco and it has a tool box and other gear in the box. Hands down he said the eco beats the 5.0l going up the hills. Flat ground he says no differance. The rpm that the eco achieves it's
torqe is way lower than the 5.0l.
