Do not want... Pike doing a gator roll = fish getting off...

My go to snaps are the berkley cross-lok snaps. They can be a bit of a pain to hook onto some lures because of their shape(in some instances you might even have to choose a certain size snap just to work with a certain lure) but you will never have to worry about one coming undone.

One of the past members put me onto these. So far I have only used them icefishing on jigging spoons but them seem to work good. Never tried them on crankbaits yet though

Spinning hooks look cool.

Never used clips or snaps of any kind though.

Freedom Tackle uses this system on their jig heads, super nice for replacing hooks and bait bodies.

Default Fastach

Did a bunch of looking online for more info on the Mustad Fastach .
I love the idea so ......

I bought three packs yesterday at the Fishing Hole South Edmt.
( west end doesnt carry them ?? )

trying them out on Wed. afternoon.

I put an old spoon in my bench Vise and pulled on some 30 lb braid
till I pulled the split ring apart . Nothing eles eles gave out.

Cant see any fish rolling the lure off the Twist on the Fastach.

Looks like a great little known Gimmick !!

and we all like Gimmicks ..... dont we boys .....

** see you on the water..... **

I use the same - Berkley Cross Locks or Coast Locks - they are rated from 25lb to 375lb depending on size - so the are strong and secure.

http://www.berkley-fishing.com/Berkl...d.html#start=2

I ran some Wolverine rings onto my smaller lures as the coast lock eye does not always fir through smaller eyes on smaller lures.

Have not had a failure since ......

I am personally happy with this product. Bought 5 packs. I snap my 30lb braid before these things give.

Interesting snaps to be sure...and seeing that they're available locally I may have to grab a pack and give them a go.

I normally use the Berkley crosslock snap swivels, though I have had a few fail over the past couple years but have yet to find anything better locally. Maybe this will be it?

The pike would have to do a gator roll and a backflip simultaneously while holding the clip still. Now that I'd love to see!
