Default Eagle Lake First time

Going to Eagle Lake by Strathmore for first time this evening. Shore fishing, not sure where to start. See there is a road on a causeway over lake. Is this a good spot to start.

Any advice or tips appreciated.

Bring waders. Water is very shallow for 100ft or so.

Water can also be dangerous if the blue/green algae is in full bloom.

I was out there last week. Fished with waders 60 feet out (the boat launch area is really shallow) & still could not cast out past all the weeds! I tried all the way around the cement berms! It is nasty there! Not even a nibble! There were 4-5 others fishing from shore & nothing!
