Default Remington Titanium 7mm 08....key thingy ???????

Thanks for all the help guys... found one of the old titaniums new in the box....its brand new but she has a key lock on the bolt..whats up with that..is there something that can be done about that key thingy..I just know its going to cost me something big... with my luck the key will get lost and well you no the rest of the story..

Thats the Remington "J-Lock" and it can be replaced by replacing a bolt shroud. Look up a Callahan or similar replacement and its a pretty simple job to replace one.

There are several brands and some very good lightweight replacement ones as well.

Replace the bolt shroud/pin assembly with one from PT&G, Callahan, Gretan etc. I think Corlane will have one and it's a two minute install. Should run you $75-$100.

I have ordered 3 now from from Pacific Tool and Gauge in the States and they come shipped for about 25% less than buying one up here.

Oh I've got an old Ziess scope I'm goin to put on her and the amo thing..bought my first 7mm mag in 1973 got my rcbs same year been making magic bullets ever since...this is my 3rd Shilen barrel plus the stocker. no expert but the old mag has been 3/4 minute or less her hole life...loves the 162s

Too bad it's a lefty otherwise I would make it mine! LOL

The 870 Express is one Remington that I shy away from,because of the plastic trigger group.
