Default Can you use fluorocarbon as backing for braided line

Hey guys I went to spool up my new baitcaster tonight and relied I don't have any mono to use as backing and all I can find in the tackle bag is fluorocarbon. Will this work?

It will be fine as backing.

x2 will work just the same, though cheaper mono would be more worth it as backing, you rarely need it and it's cheaper IMO

Instead of using mono, I wrap a piece of electrical tape around the spool one time. Easier I find and works just as good

I don't use backing, I don't see the need for an extra knot.

If you need backing your reel is too big imo.

I use the green painters tape as it provides some "grip" for the line while leaving no residue.
