Default Reloader 15 - who is using it?

Who is using it and what are you using it in?

I have some, unopened, and never used it before. I have been checking a couple of reloading manuals and I'm not sure its be best for what cartridges I have...

6.5 Creedmoor, 130-140gr
7 Saum, 160-175gr
300 WSM, 168-200gr
338-06, 185-225 gr

Is it worth keeping and using in what I have or sell it and buy something else?

It gives my best recorded velocity and accuracy in a .308 with a 165 grain accubond.

It sure wouldn’t be my powder of choice for those cartridges. It’s a great powder but definitely a faster burn rate than you want. Trade of for something slower. RL15 is great on 308, 303, 35 Whelen etc.

Just noticed you have 338-06 listed. It could work ok in their but I’d still say a bit too fast.

I think the 338-06 is the only one that it could work for. Barnes and Nosler has it listed it there reloading specs. I am just wondering if its better then other stuff I have. I guess I will give it a try and find out.

I'm using it in my 22-250 with great results! It was pretty close between that and Varget but the RL-15 was the winner. If you find it doesn't work in your 338-06 and you want to try some 4320 as suggested above let me know. I have a couple unopened lbs I'd be willing to trade you for it...

I use it in m 375 Ruger Hawkeye with 250 gr sierra bullets
Rl 15 works great really accurate for the load I worked up.

RL15 is my preferred powder shooting 120 grain TTSXs from my 7mm08. Works so well I had Korth Group make a CDS dial for the most accurate load.

I like the stuff mostly use it in 9.3x62 and 416 Rem mag and 375H&H for some reason in the bigger bore it seems better than Varget for me anyhow
Cheers

I have had great success with a 300 WSM and 165 TTSX bullets. Slightly out of your grain range for 300 WSM, but close.

sounds like its worth a shot. 165 or 168 grain Barnes would be a nice combo in a 300 wsm.

6.5x47L and 6mmBR......why, because 15 years ago when I got into reloading and target shooting that's what I learned on and bought a LOT of it!
