Road to the canal boat launch is closed.....sort of. I was out last weekend but we did not bother to fish. Local told us the canal had been slow and most of the boats were launching in the upper reservoir and fishing up towards the mouth of the Elk or Brazeau rivers.

I've fished the canal in winter 2 times with no luck. U won't get many responses on this place as iv seen on previous posts. Iv heard rumors on big pike in the canal part thou. Possible browns also but may be just rumors lol.

Ive had pretty good luck for Pike, consistantly, fishing around the rip-rap in the canal. The later you go in the summer the better it is in my opinion. usually by late august and september the water clears up quite a bit, you can see hazards and it just makes it easier to navigate around and fish different spots.

I also sent you a PM
