Default Punta Gorda, Belize

Heading to Belize again this Feb. Looking to book a couple of charters out of Punta Gorda. Anyone have luck with any of the charters out of their marinas? Any recommendations? Looking to catch bottom fish, permit and tarpon. Thanks. BEL

I just booked feb 3 to 20th back in Placencia. Best reputation there is Eworth Garbutt. He is from Punta Gorda and his two brothers guide out of there. No first hand experience with them but Eworth is great. I want to do another week to two weeks else where myself. Was considering San Pedro or Roatan, Guanaja or .... any ideas?

We had a great bonefishing experience out of San Pedro 2 years ago. The guide was supplied by the Banana Beach Resort. Can not remember his name. We are heading back there late Jan before we go to Punta Gorda. Thanks for the names. BEL

I have fished with a guide by the name of Ian Cuevez(SP), he is awesome! if you have seen the show "belize outdoors" he is the main guide on there. I fished with him out of placencia, but I believe he is from the punta gorda area. if you want his #, pm me and ill see if I can find his card. P.S. he put me on so many permit one day it was crazy.

Headed to San Pedro as well the end of January, hoping to do a little fishing as well! Never been to Belize, can't wait to escape the snow!

Thumbs up Belize.

Just got back,,, move there in a heart beat. Inland rivers were all flooded; just like it was here.
Placencia is a good spot to go from. Went out about 35 miles to stay within fishable areas..
Landed 2 36" barracudas, 27" grupper, yellow tail snappers and one other I forgot the name of.
Be ready for roads, not so great.
PM. For guide info

Depending on what u want todo on trip, I have contacts and info.

I have been to many different places in the sun and Belize has been the best for me. San Ignacio is inland, where did you fish?

My Wife's brothers live in San Ignacio and we spent 2 weeks there. Very cool place. Where did you stay? The place on the top of the hill....I can't remember the name.

We stayed at the Midas resort, and drove out to Placencia for a day trip out fishing.
Was the only fishing we did as all the rivers were flooded due to the most rain for the dry season in 30 years. The buddy I went with own property ar Unitedville, but it was rented out still. Only drawback,, the roads are terrible.
