with only 9 liberal candidates in the whole province you have to wonder what kind of deal the ndp had with them?

Votes cast: 1,772,314
UPC votes: 926,918
NDP votes: 776,188
Other party votes: 60,335
Those who didn't vote, though eligible:1,068,613
Again, some numbers may not be accurate, but are close.

To those who voted "other", you had every right to do so.
However, in reality, isn't it kinda like wearing a clown suit when everyone else is wearing either pants or a dress? It's ok to make a statement, but ultimately, no one cares.
You didn’t influence the election results in any meaningful way. Take note that no "other" parties secured a seat in the legislature. The one Independent seat holder was actually a UPC candidate tossed from the party.
As for those who didn't vote, some have legitimate reasons. Others not so much, and it's that particular group who have no legitimate right to complain about the results, or the consequences. And this group had the potential to sway the end results either way...
MHO.

It’s about having a choice and not worrying about what others think, say or do.

I like the fact we have choices in the matter.

Put that in the stats.

Dad, Ralph, a bottle of scotch and me. Good enough for 10,000.
That makes four people who didn’t realize we have election week not election day. Or maybe it was just one? Brilliant.

This shows once again that you have no sense of humor.
Lighten up Chuck.

Notley to ‘consider’ role as party leader after failing to form government a second time

Alberta NDP leader Rachel Notley says she will take some time to consider her role as leader after she failed to form government for a second time in last month’s election.

On May 29, the Alberta NDP secured 38 seats to Danielle Smith’s United Conservative Party’s 49 seats. That marks the second time Notley failed to form government since her party was booted from government by Jason Kenney’s UCP after just one term in 2019.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Notley said she takes responsibility for the party’s loss.

“Like all leaders in our system of government, I think it’s good leadership to consider your role leading up to an election and to consider your role after an election,” Notley said.

Notley said she will consider a range of factors as to whether she will stay on as leader that would take “too long to outline.” She said she doesn’t have a clear timeline as to when she’ll have an answer about her future in the party.

She is saying the words but will not walk away from the trough. Maybe step down as leader but I doubt she takes a walk in the smoke and calls it quits.

I hope she stays on and tries for a bigger loss.

Danielle has been suspended from Facebook without explanation, wonder if it was at Trudeau’s request?

Was it her Facebook account that was blocked?
Or, was it " The Official Facebook Account of the Premier of Alberta" that was blocked?

From her wording, it sounds like it was a personal account

My candidate was Jon Dziadyk.

As in former city councillor Jon Dziadyk, the same one that tried using $44,000 of taxpayers money that was supposed to be spent within his riding on himself instead on a real spendy U of A degree.

Is this REALLY the best candidate the UCP could come up with? I would of been MUCH happier voting for a no name first timer than this clown.

That is pretty scummy alright, almost as bad as illegally hacking a government database. The truth is, that politics attracts some scummy characters looking for easy money.

Officials with Facebook are refuting the claim by Alberta’s premier that her account was banned.
