Ultimate Trappers Competition returns to Pincher Ck Rendezvous!

Join the Alberta Trappers Association for the 48th annual Rendezvous in lovely Pincher Creek, July 14th, 15th. Pincher Creek hosted an impressive Rendezvous in 2016.

For 15 years, the Ultimate Trappers Competition has highlighted the caliber of Alberta's trappers. We have had specific species trap sets, crazy snowshoe races and canoe races, and other events to entertain and educate all in attendance.

This year will again showcase speed skinning and youth events. If your were in Rocky Mtn House last year, you may have witnessed a coyote being skinned at a blistering pace of 1:44 (one minute, 44 seconds!) How about a fastest time of 2:05 on Beaver? Impressive stuff, and these times were still a shade under the historical UTC best times.

This year, we are adding the Women's Beaver speed skinning event! We need entrants... This is guaranteed to be a crowd favorite I suspect

We had at least 10 youth do the Muskrat skinning and handling as well. It was a huge crowd favorite. The snowshoe races always see more kids and youth then snowshoes. If you have an extra set(s) of snowshoes- please bring them; and we can have more entries...

All of the UTC events have cash prizes .... All sponsors will be announced at the event, at the awards presentation, in the ATA Magazine and on the ATA website.

Just so people are aware Kevin Van Tighem is the NDP candidate for Livingston/Macleod riding in southern Alberta. He is part of a group that wants to end wolf trapping. If NDP were voted in it’s a good bet he would be environment minister.
