Default Crow river levels… concerning?

I’ve fished the Crow since ‘91.
I’ve never seen it this clear and low and done with spring runoff pretty much ever.

There was one time in ‘96 that me and a buddy caught the salmonfly hatch right on the 16th and the water was high but clear and fishable.

The levels right now are easily mid July levels.

Little concerning if you ask me.

Agreed, and the same can be said for almost every river all the way to Jasper. The snowpack is gone in all of the main drainages almost 2 months earlier than average. Without a bunch of rain the rivers are going to be low and dangerously warm by July I think.

Even more concerning is the Bow River. The upstream reservoirs were drained with the intent of "flood mitigation" despite the fact the snowpack was gone and the risk of a flood is essentially zero.

I feel like everything will be fishable on the 16th. But then everything will be closed due to warm water a month later.
