Good work flames played pretty well, not so many mistakes this game, 4th line looked really good.

One big difference I saw was that Goudreau played with a lot more heart... he can be a real sparkplug when he does that

On another note, Crosby, Malkin, and Kessel are still cruising along, 2 pts each tonight vs the 2nd best team in the league (pts wise anyway).

Showing good signs but still some sloppy play...Gotta say I wouldn't be too disappointed if they trade Brodie

I'm certainly disappointed in some of his gaffs this season, but I also know what he is capable of and how good he can be...not ready to see him traded yet. But he does need to get his head in the game.

Think it's the issue at home and the realization that somethings are more important than the job, especially with being away for days/weeks at a time? He was really good last year.

That's the damnable part of it....he was great last year, hence the massive disappointment this year. It's never easy to put a loss of a game on a person, as it really is a team effort, but this year you can actually pin losses on him.

If the Flames can keep it up, they can still look forward to making the playoffs, at this point, there are only two teams that have a realistic chance of playing in the post season.

Its pretty crazy. They've gotten 22 pts out of their last possible 30, 0.733 hockey, and they are 1 pt out of being 11th in the conference.

From Sports Club Stats, the chances of Canadian clubs making the playoffs:
Toronto: 99.5%
Winnipeg: 99.2%
Calgary: 46.9%
Montreal: 1.5%
Edmonton: 0.7%
Vancouver: 0.0%

Seems to me that Calgary's number is a bit off as San Jose's (same No. of games, two more points) is 73.2% and LA's (game in hand and 1 point back) is 77.6%.

It doesn't just take into account the number of available points left. It takes into account the winning percentage of the teams they are facing in final 30 or so games and some other statistics. Too complicated for me to figure out but I say the more Canadian team in the playoffs, the better it is for hockey fans everywhere.

I'm picturing the Oilers fans looking at that .7% chance, and seeing this in my head... Bessiedog comes to mind...

Flames really need to bring their A game tonight, and pick up some points...and ideally string a few wins together now. Rittich looks ok in net, Lomberg looks like he is here to fight somebody again

Ya, they were really lucky to come out of that last one with 2 points.

Beauty goal from Monahan on the Hamilton rebound. That was some kind of hand eye coordination right there! 1-0

Nope I caught that one.
Seems like when he gets a fire under his arse Calgary wins more often than not.

Is it just me, or is Jersey a completely dead arena? Place is half empty, fans are quiet, no nothing....what a lousy atmosphere.

And that's from the first puck drop, nothing to do with current score.
