Default kootenay should of come!

Hope this posts properly but here's an 19.8 pounder,tough fishing working hard,still two days left.

Been on my bucket list since I learned about those fish while researching a possible move out that way. Now you are just fuelling the fire lol.

Nope I have rented boats over the years and learned the lake over many hours of trolling that sucker I'm no pro out their but we seem to hold our own pretty well.

February Family Day fishing derby cancelled because of very low numbers of rainbows in the lake. Please release as many of these fish as you can to help get through this low in the cycle of fish numbers.

Wow that's the first good news I've heard about the koot in a while. Hope it's not too late. The lake should be catch and release right now period

Sounds like the predator/prey relationship has quickly got out balance with record numbers of rainbows about 4-5 years ago and a virus in the kokanee that has drastically reduced their numbers in the last 2 years. All of the rainbows that we caught this fall were VERY skinny and we saw very few concentrated groups of bait. Let's hope the cycle runs it's course and balances out soon.
