I am new to hunting and got a bull moose tag for WMU 349 for November. I am wondering if many moose have been spotted in this area and if anyone has any advise that could help me out.
Lots of moose there....lots of lease roads, burn some fuel and boot laces. Look for recent cut blocks....get a good set of binos or a spotter and make sure you have a full tank! Also make sure you are prepared if you get stuck or go off the road in wet nasty weather. The back and side routes can be treacherous.
We, as usual, will be there in 349 at same time.
If you see us older cats camping, fith wheel, motorhome, two Argos, (and hopefully a moose and some deer hanging) stop by and say hello.

head north and hunt along the goose river in the extreme north end of the zone
I'll be hunting for deer just north of the headwaters of Goose Creek this weekend. I don't have a moose tag but I'll let you know if I see any. If you come up this way make sure you have an argo or a quad with lots of winch cable... it's pretty swampy at the headwaters.
