Default Chief Hector Lake

Does anyone have an current information on this lake? Sounds like it used to be real decent. Is it worth investigating currently?

I'm curious too. I've been under the impression that there hasn't been fish in there for a number of years, but I could be wrong. Certainly no one talks about it anymore, and back in the late 90's, it used to be one of the "go to" trophy lakes around Calgary.

I fished it a number of times when it was popular and did catch some nice fish. It wasn't managed very well i.e. fish were allowed to be kept by the locals, and the winter aerator wasn't always properly maintained. I stopped going there when day user's cars started getting broken into and the mismanagement became more obvious. Hopefully things have changed, if there is fish in it, Chief Hector Lake is in a pretty location and an ideal place to take a float tube.
