Default Graffiti and garbage in National Parks

A disturbing trend I’ve noticed in the parks whether it’s in Banff Jasper or even Waterton is the amount of trash left on trails and graffiti. I see little bags of dog poop left on the trails all the time. I’m trying to figure out the thought process behind this. They will go so far as in picking up dog excrement and placing it in a little plastic bag but not haul it out? Why bother bagging it in the first place .Do they believe there is someone employed solely to walk around trails and pick up their dog’s sh!t?

Garbage everywhere went up to the tea house and beehive trail at lake louise, garbage mostly from the tea house everywhere. What sort of lowlife dreg goes to a National park and tags every garbage can, sign walking trail in sight?

Serious question does parks Canada clean the graffiti up ever? In the meantime I’ll just continue to visualize catching one of these little puked in the act... sorry for the rant.

covid has a lot to do with it. this epidemic brings in lots of different people of every kind. most important these are not naturist or true fisherman... we appreciate natural beauty therefor will not trash. sometime we even take out garbage not ours. however when its like mountain load not helping. i think these folks do it on purpose to **** off others. cant see their house like that. only way install cameras and give prize to people who report offense from tickets

Covid got $H!!!T to do with it. Don't even try that blame. They have been around in different areas for a long time. They are lazy and for the most part not educated for the enjoyment of outdoors. Blame their parents cause they probably do the same camping or hiking. Myself, friends and all their kids have been brought up to respect areas of recreation and always pack out more than we ever take in. Good luck with trying to fine anyone. They have no respect. Bear warnings and littering warnings but seems like most can't read anyways. Close all the trails and make em hike in the city

And Now they are invading the other parts of our wild Alberta. time to buy a few extra boxes of garbage bags.

And this is a Covid root cause phenomenon.

Picked up garbage and beer cans at Gap Lake on Friday, breathtaking scenery and then you look down to see trash strewn about.....

I used to pick up and pack out garbage I found on trails and at fishing spots, but with Covid I won't touch it. Pick up a drink bottle or food wrapper that has been handled by strangers and may quite possibly have traces of their saliva on it?... no way!

I'm not sure if more garbage is being strewn about or not, but certainly there are fewer people cleaning it up.

Trust me, Alberta is not unique in slobs visiting the great out doors! Was pretty lit today riding with a co worker seeing all the trash left on OHV trails and talking with another one about bags of human waste left along the pull outs inside Yellowstone... all comes down to no respect for the land or others!
