Default Plan on hunting 346?

Just a friendly heads up that if you are planning on hunting the bush in 346 you had better bring a chain saw with you.

The snow today has bent a lot of trees right over to the ground and the bush sounds like a war zone with trees cracking and breaking.

The lines and trails are going to be covered in downed trees.
Regards,
Dave

I just got off the phone with a farmer across the bank from you.
He's not happy that his crops are laying down.

I'll be there in a few weeks trying to put dad into a cow elk.
Might be his last elk hunt. So here's hoping.

I'll be there this weekend. Hopefully my stand is still standing!

Yup its a mess out here. My yard got absolutely destroyed last night. Trees started cracking and crashing to the ground at 1:30 am and didn't stop all night. Power and phone lines down too.

I ran saw all day today and can barely lift my arms now. Probably cant even draw my bow

Our place seems to have escaped with little damage. Spent about 3-4 hours driving around today out the North Road and saw little damage (and not a single animal). Town was an absolute mess though. Valleys seem to have copped the worst?
Go away winter.

JungleFisher is right in that the damage is very spread around. Some places not bad at all and some are almost devastated.

I have crop laying down as well as some standing (???) crop....I hope. Not likely.

I went outside y-day expecting to see the worst in my apple orchard but it appears I got off reasonably lucky. Lost about 6 or 8 Siberian root stock trees but only some light branch damage in my mature producing trees. Some of my grafts were broken off as well but that is to be expected as they are a weak spot for a year or two until they heal.

Our Elm tree appears to be a write off.

Expect lots of downed trees, bent trees, flattened and tangled grass and wet ground for hunting folks. Not sure how the grouse population will do with this weather?
Regards,
Dave.
