Default "Hey...what is that big green mesh box" says the perch

That would be the start of the Lake Sundance Perch Netting season my little perch buddies!

"Where is the exit out of here" says the perch

That would be the tub.

I'm feeling a lot better physically and can't wait to do one of your famous perch hunts Kevin. Looking forward to being there this year.

After catching some trout tonight with the fly rod I decided to see if any perch were in the shallows. Well it didn't take long to have 4 plump 10" fish full of eggs in the boat. Fly fishing for perch....truly a lost art
They look like they are really close to the giant sex party.

Is anyone interested in helping with the perch traps on Sat at 1 pm?

I have 4 traps set since last Sunday. Hopefully we have caught a few thousand ripe females.

I can use some help pulling the traps. 3 helpers plus me and a shore captain and bonker/helpers.

All volunteers can bring buckets to take their share of the bounty home.

Cheers

Sun

LOL

If only I could get them to "flock up". I could then also look to the duck hunters to help as well as fishermen.

In Before The Fight....

But seriously, a "nice perch" fishery can't be created without predator fish, the perch will stunt. And since its illegal to stock predator fish, this option is out. Not to mention Sundance knows his stuff, if he wanted a perch fishery I doubt he would be killing off all the perch.............

just out of curiosity, how successful do you think you have been in your efforts?
(this is a legit and non-sarcastic question)
Thanks Sun.

Never hurts to have more. Better there than watching fishing on TV :-)

I could use 2 people at 12:30 just to pull a trap or two prior to the main bonking group arriving.

Any takers?

Long term hard to tell.

Short term...sizes are up, population is down. Every Spring is exciting to see what happens.

Well I'm going to the Big Bonk today. I don't have waders and have no idea what to expect. Does a guy bring his mucker boots or will runners cut it?
