Default Nephew's first ice outting and first fish

Took my nephew out this passed weekend for his first time fishing ever. Spent 5-10 minutes on telling him how to reel, hold the rod, when a fish bites etc.... 20 seconds after he dropped his line he iced his first fish ever!! Guess a school just came by at the right time. Bunch of little guys around 5-6" then a nice fatty comes out of no where and takes his line for a nice little ride. It was like christmas for him, wish i had it on video.

He's already asked me if I can take him again LOL

Good job and nice fish.

A tip of the hat to his uncle for taking him out. A trip that he will remember forever.

And that's the best part I started taking my son out at 5 now he usually out-fishes me...
But that's not a bad thing..

Good job BIGCU, and congratulations to your nephew.

It's a blast taking kids out, I too took my own daughter out for her first fishing trip a little over a month ago. I just got a text from the wife that our daughters 5 year old friend from kindergarten is coming with us this weekend. I can't wait to take them out, if her friend gets half as excited as my daughter does when it's "fish on" time.

Have fun fishing with the kids!

Way to go Uncle. Way to take the little fellow out. That pic shows a kid that'll be hooked for life.

Congrats on the great outing. To many more.

Thanks guys, its really nice to see a lot of kids are getting out and away from their tablets and computers and enjoy the outdoors. I've been seeing more and more kids out on the lakes now and good for them and whoever is taking them.

I'd rather have them out on the lake and make a ruckus there than inside a house glued to their tablets playing Clash of Clans...even if it does reduce my catches LOL
