Default Do the coyotes still have their winter coats with this warm weather? (Southern Alberta)

Dunno if that is a stupid question or not?

I wanna get out after some coyotes (hunting) and wanted to know if I'm gonna get a decent pelt if I connect with any?

Thanks

Max

Yup, it really doesn’t matter anyways as pelts are with nothing right now!

They are past prime. If you look in the trapping regs there a chart that shows when animals are in prime for reference.

OK sweet thanks. I don't want to sell them, just enter one or two for home decor

I will grab a copy of the trapping regs when I'm at Cabela's today

Will the cold snap that's coming in this weekend make a difference or is it literally just time of year that affects the quality?

Getting a huge variety from mangy to excellent. They are still very prime down south.Got one yesterday that would be in the top lot.

They'll be thinking about breeding very shortly, not good for fur condition.

Go shoot Sone, calling coyotes is fun regardless of fur price or quality.

It is painful to see the prices where they are for sure. Have ridden out a few of these low value coyote cycles but not sure I ll ride this one out at my age. The upside is that calling coyotes is almost as good as when I started calling fifty years ago.
