Question about shooting in and around calgary

Hey

Just would like to start off by saying Hello
First day to this site and first post

I have been shooting now for about a year
just at shooters edge and stuff like that
got my PAL
but now I'm curious where I can go thats outside
I just want to shoot off some rifles
just a .22 and stuff
and i just want to be able to enjoy the weather as well

I'm just not sure where is available that isnt a range

Welcome, this is a great place to learn about shooting, hunting etc...

I can not point you to somewhere specific, but you can shoot on crown land provided you are doing it safe: make sure you have a good back stop, there is no one else in the area...

Close to Calgary may be tough to find somewhere that does not already have other people using the area, that is why I ended up joining a range near town. But if you head west into the forestry zone and look around hard enough you should be able to find a place, good luck and be safe!

there are a number of good outdoor ranges around Calgary. the benefit is the controlled and safe atmosphere, not to mention the meeting of great men and women who share our passion of shooting...just a thought

what do you mean by crown land?

i have looked at the range in olds
might consider something like that
i dont have a big selection of guns anywayi think maybe when i get more then 2 i will join a range lol
