Default unit close ish to calgary for black bear?

hey guys, not looking for your exact gps coordinates or anything but curious if anyone could point a guy towards an area with some crown land where theres some black bear around? not looking for a trophy or a trash bear want some fat for boots and sausage and a ham for christmas. let me know if you can thanks.

Any cereal crop Fields this time of year will have bears in them

that is a very kind offer. close to Calgary is within a few hours. I'm based just outside of Drumheller. not much for bears out here. willing to drive a little further north than cochrane and as far south as nanton.

North cochrane has black bears and crown land to boot. Grizzlys as well. As soon as you get into ghost and harold creek ive seen a few. Color phase black on the transalta road last wednesday. Just after cross the little bridge.

The "Ghost" mentioned above is WMUs 316, 412 and 414. They are all crown land and bear sign can be found.

ill let you know how it works out. torn between north and south. maybe ill flip a coin
north is a little closer to me. we will see.

Despite the Grizzlies, Kananaskis still holds lots of black bears.

A great area to get a "clean" bear.

The main problem is that the spring season is so short....
