Default Antelope hunting success

Well opening morning of our antelope hunt. Texted a couple of the grazing lease contacts that asked as to contact them this morning. No problems. One was walk in only, and the other just asked we stay away from areas with cattle or guys on horses. No problem.
Put on plenty of miles and did lots of glassing. Got excited when we saw a lone doe in the middle of one of the leases.
Waited until later in the morning to call a couple land owners that we saw goats on the day before. Very friendly folks that said they have one rule to access the property to hunt...ask for permission. This opened up a ton of beautiful area. We saw several good mulie bucks but no goats.
Decided to head to one of the grazing leases and on the way say a nice heard. After making a couple calls we met with the landowner who was combining and he gave us permission to access the area safely away from where they had equipment working. 1/2 mile walk and wait and we had our first animal down.
As we were nearing the end of the day we headed back to one of the grazing leases while trying to decide where we were going to start tomorrow. Came over a knoll and spotted a small heard. A quick stalk and we had our second.
I have to say we had several hours of disappointment. Travelled lots of beautiful area but did not see any animals. On the bright side I was pleasantly surprised how accommodating the landowners were in providing permission. No problems with lease contacts either.
For an area we were unfamiliar with iHunter app is a must. Makes it super easy to know exactly where you are and who owns the adjacent land. I also downloaded the provincial grazing lease feature which shows contacts and provides contact information.
All in all it was a great hunt. Looking forward to coming back again.

Great news! I think it’s wonderful that you took it upon yourself to take out the mentally challenged and gave them the experience of a lifetime! Kudos!

I was down in 102 and have never seen so many hunters and so few antelope.
My son had the tag and filled it after lots of of effort and a great long stock.
Over all it was a pretty good hunt but the tag to animal ratio was way out.

I was down there also. Talked to one land owner and they said good luck with your tag all the antelope died over the winter. Guess it only takes 1 buck to breed 20 does so hopefully the numbers will be better in the future. There was LOTS of hunters. Seen 3 empty trucks parked and the guys were all chasing the same group of 2 goats opening morning. Oh well. I got mine and got outta there fast.

The fish cop from Foremost retired and hasn't been replaced.
On land owner in particular wasn't too please with that either.
I'm not sure where the money from the tags was going but the elevated cost over what a deer tag is seems to be a cash grab.
