That was fun watching 2 Flames fans have it out. Kinda like getting beat up by your little brother!

Don't feel bad, I bet on the Bruins so the Blues would win, that is the kinda luck I have.

I seen a post that St.Louis has the most Canadian born players than any other team in the NHL. Lots of western guys

Congrats to the Blues

9 years ago Colton Parayko never ever playing Midget Triple A, paid a 60 dollar tryout fee with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the AJHL and is now A Stanley cup champ as one of the NHL’s premier defensemen. A local St Albert boy and another diamond in the rough the Oilers Scouting staff missed during his developing years....

Dont mention Oilers and Stanley cup in the same sentence

Didn't see the blues winning two weeks ago but as the series continued you can see why.....grit and determination from last place in January to this....Canadian gritty never give up north, south hockey....

It was a hard series for me to watch.

I love the underdog, come from behind aspect of the Blues. Had to spend a week in St. Louis 20 years ago and it had to be the most boring city I ever visited for work, my goodness Lethbridge is a thriving happening place compared to that so called city.

Boston on the other hand, I have a soft spot for because I remember growing up in the 60's and 70's when the height of the Montreal vs. Boston fever was on, you knew it was going to be a grudge match. Everyone west of Winnipeg absolutely hated Montreal (mainly because of politics and not the people), Montreal stood as the epitome of all that was evil and corrupt and needed to be wiped off the face of the earth.

I get the point you're making, but "premier", I don't think so.....

I don't defend the Oilers often, but to be fair, I think it's safe to say every single team in the NHL missed out on him except the Blues. Two players in the top five in that draft aren't even in the NHL with Koekkoek at No. 10 being a fringe guy (22 games in the NHL last season with time split in Syracuse).

That was a bad draft year.
More guys picked in the 3rd round have played in the NHL than guys chosen in the 2nd round.

NHL needs to raise the draft age to 19. The extra year would let the cream rise to the top and make the draft less of a crap shoot. Allowing 18yo to opt into the draft would allow exceptional talents to play in the NHL when they are ready. Similar to basketball where underclassmen can declare their intent to enter the draft.

And so as not to derail, Parayko is a solid defenceman; a large body that can keep up with the play.

He was the best defenseman in this years playoffs.. his stock has risen tremendously. He was out during every important time during this players.

Ole BB356 will be crying a tear in his beer today. I was hoping either would win it from the start of the playoffs with the Blues a hair ahead due to the last to first push. Good to see them get their first cup.

He isn't even on St. Louis' first pairing is he?

Maybe you are saying something different in that last sentence, it's a bit garbled, but I'd say Pietrangelo's game winning goal in game 7 was pretty important. In fact, I don't think Parayko was on the ice for a single Blue's goal last night....

If it was replayed, I'd take Pietrangelo for that series every time.

Default 2019 Stanley cup playoffs

Funny how Don Cherry guaranteed a win for the Bruins last night, and then was never seen for comments after the game. Congrats Blues!

Tough one Boston. You got goalied, but you also let in 4 goals. The better team won game 7.

My favourite part of game seven is this picture Marron holding the cup a close second.

Interesting to note that when size seems to be of less importance in todays NHL, 2 of the biggest teams have won the cup the last couple of years.

Marchand is a all world pain in the ass and a all world player. I think it would be very interesting to share a campfire/beer with him as he seems to enjoy hunting as well.

One thing I noticed. While Marchand was extremely upset after losing (He has won before) in watching the Basketball stuff, the GSW didn't seem overly phased by the loss. Even the moron who called for the time out when they had none and took away any chance (Be it very small) of a come back was not upset.

I will take Marchand over any of those guys any day of the week. Though Fred Vanleet is the closest to a Hockey player I have seen. Guy was fun to watch.

Regular season where they call everything sure seems to help the small guys excel. In playoffs where they let a pile go, the big guys seem to rise to the top.
