Default Next yrs hunt

Normally this time of year I’m in full hunting mode but I folded my tags early so instead of hunting I just find myself thinking about hunting lol. I’m looking to do a hunt down south and try hunting some terrain I’ve never hunted before. The hills and coulees look amazing and I would love to try that type of hunt. Lots of glassing and miles on the boots. I’m a p8 or so for my mulie so I figure I have a chance a hunting a few of the southern wmu but have never spent anytime that way. I’m not looking for a monster buck, I’m in it for the experience and was looking on getting a little feedback. Looking at the map I see tons of crown grazing land which may or may not be hard to get permission. Looks like I’m some wmu, half the land is leased by 1 or 2 guys. I also see something called “twin river heritage rangeland” in wmu 108. Anyone have experience with this area. I guess I’m looking for some advice on where I should start to look. I’ve got no wmu in mind, I’m both a bow and a rifle hunter, and obviously I’d shoot trophy if I saw one but I’m really just looking for a new hunting experience in some new terrain. Before all the naw sayers chime in I will be heading down this summer for some scouting and hiking of my own but with absolutely no experience in the area any advice is appreciated.

I'm following this. I'm in the same boat as you, P7. I've never hunted the prairies ( always in the mountains or north ) but always wanted to.

Been there done that! My experience, go down and do your scouting early and find some areas that look interesting. Could even scout next season also then the following season put your draw in and go at er!! You will learn a ton doing it on your own..

We did a hunt by suffield and shot a couple of real busters one was 201 and the other is 198. It was the first time we hunt there and was super easy for access on the leases.
