Connecting 65lb braid to 40lb or 60lb mono...what knot do you like best?
What knot do people prefer to connect braid to a mono leader?

I use this one. Not at those poundages but from mono to braid or fireline.

Power pro used to have a knot on their website called the no name knot but it isn't there anymore. I use it all the time for braid to fluoro/mono and it works great and I have never had it fail. It ties pretty good and small which is a necessity for fitting through guides.
This link has it at the bottom. The picture isn't the best as it doesn't show the 2nd set of 12 loops but it is easy enough to figure out.

Just did the Albright special with a little knot sense on it. Seems pretty good.

The Bob Foran knot is just about as strong but easier to tie, though the knot is slightly larger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YpuP70J64A
Like DiabeticKripple said terminal knots with a swivel in between is stronger and works well if you are not casting or using short leaders.

I will be casting large lures for cudas and maybe tarpon if the flyrod doesn't work.
I am going you have to print some of these off
Thanks all.

I would typically use a barrel swivel, however, if you needed stealth, or didn't want to use a barrel swivel, an albright knot would be the obvious choice for me. Makes a clean compact and strong knot.
The double uni is good too, but a little tougher to tie in a boat. Also a compact and strong knot.
Either is good. Depends on what you are more comfortable in tying.

I have done both braid to fluorocarbon leader or mono directly and also tied a barrel swivel between the two. Done a fair amount of each. Both work fine, but I do prefer the swivel when I can. Your line tends to twist when there is a direct connection, where a barrel swivel 'releases' that twist and keeps your line relatively true.

That's a slick knot.
I've usually used clinch knots tied together as a connector but that one looks so much easier.

I was going to tie a snap swivel to the mono just to prevent twists like you mention.

I found braid has good memory for line twist.

Probably worse the heavier the braid you think?

Albright, but double up your braid and wrap it that way. Then follow up with a nail knot tied with tag end onto braid. This is super strong knot and it will never give. The nail knot just gives it more o streamlined profile and keeps braid in line with thicker mono. Dab of knot sense on nail knot and you're bomb proof. Enjoy.

I'm confused by the guys who say they use a swivel.
How does that work/ look.
If someone can post a pic of this it would help to make sense.
