.....what's the plan guys. Tick tock. Ditching the dreams of trophy racks? Settling for a spiker?

I won't shoot a deer on the last day, that I wouldn't shoot on opening day. If I see the right deer, I will try to fill my tag, if not, I will have enjoyed a few days outdoors with friends.

Actually for us older retired guy's there is 10 full days of hunting left, I am looking for a very mature buck or nothing, saw him a couple days ago but never got a go at him, will keep after him, eventually he will chase a doe past me

I have not seen any big bucks so far , but I heard a pack of wolves in 500 a couple days ago
I keep looking for a decent buck , and if I see a wolf and I get the chance I’m going to to try to get him, seen a cow and calf moose up there to day in same area , hope the wolves stay away from them

Gunna stick to my gameplan. Mature buck or tag soup. Only have two Sundays left though. Work is a drag this time of year, hard to stay focused.

All the bucks I seen on cam and such have left the property I hunt looking for sexy females lol. Tonight I watched 4 does feed till last light. Not one buck.

Last Sunday those same 4 does had a meat buck with them that would not leave. The nicer bucks on cam are awol so far. Back out Sunday, maybe those bucks will be back.

A pack of wolves in WMU 500???
I hunt this zone hard and run cameras 12 months a year in there and have never seen a wolf in person or on camera.
I think the coyotes have you fooled.

Saw a nice Mule buck this morning, really tall but narrow so he got a walk. However I did find where the does are hanging out after the big snow storm we had. Game on in the morning.

I have never seen a wolf in person or on camera either, but I know they are there in the zone I hunt because I saw tracks and droppings. Then, one day, in the early morning, I heard them deep in the bush with only three rounds in the magazine. Quite chilling hearing them the first time, to be honest. I have never heard them since. Also, you know it ain’t a coyote right away when you hear the howl.

Buck and supp tag filled. One more supp tag and moose tag to fill in the bowzone. Antlers don’t really matter this year for me as I ate tag soup the last 2 years holding out for “the big one”. Not this year. Don’t pass on anything you would shoot on the last day.

I meat hunt

If i see a big one, ill shoot it

If i dont, i dont care

Its been a great year for us so far. Ill have deer meat in the freezer until July. Rabbit and grouse too

Go out, bag your animal and dine on that perfect meat.

My deep freeze is full of moose and elk so I'm horn hunting, I know people that will gladly take the deer meat if I find the big one, if I don't I may punch them a doe on the last day.

I have a black wolf mounted that I shot in 500 a couple years ago
Maybe try sitting early in morning that’s when I heard them this year , they just went a different direction than I could see or I could have showed you a pic
I listen to yotes regularly so it was not yotes

Good population of wolves in WMU 500, just depends where you are in the zone.
