Default First Moose

My first moose taken on Nov 7th. What an adventure. It took 3 hours to load after shooting this lady at 4:30. Then when leaving the field we got turn around as the snow was now horizontal due to the storm that weekend. It took 45 minutes in pitch black that should have only taken 10 max in the day time. Then came the 3 hour drive home (Calgary) from Drumheller. Lost sight of the road three times and needed to come to a complete stop due to the blowing snow but we made it. Don’t know if she was the biggest cow but is certainly one I will never forget.

Way to go on your first Moose! You’ll never forget it!
I also got my first Moose this year after 6 years out in Alberta, being from Vancouver Island it was a long expensive journey to go Moose hunting and I only ever went one other time and wasn’t successful. I did bag a 7 point Roosevelt Elk when I was 15 though, first year I ever put into the limited entry draw, never had another one since. And I will never forget that experience!

Nice cow, congrats, a tough one like that will make you really appreciate and easy one, you earned that one.
