Smile Buck Down for the count

Harvested this beauty whitetail in the am on saturday Nov 8.

My biggest whitetail deer to date.
Here's the story.

Arrived at our spot about 1/2 hour before legal light and started walk in slowly. My brother, friend and I split up and went our three ways hoping to connect on a deer, or elk. As i walked along the bush coming to the crest of the hill and the sun rising at my back i noticed some does feeding about 250 yards away. I immediately stopped where i was and just waited for a little more light. When legal light hit i started to notice more deer coming out to feed. There was a total of 7 does in front of me and no bucks. I was thinking to myself you got to be kidding me all these does and not even one buck. I got to my knees and sat back against a tree and just decided to wait. About 15 mins passed and i noticed the deer were getting a little ancy. I wondered to myself thinking of an approaching coyote or something when i noticed this buck step out of the bush trotting towards the does. I raised my binos and immediately knew he was a shooter and began to calm myself down. I put the crosshairs on him and waited for a broadside shot. He worked himself closer to the does and gave me a perfect shot, i got focused, squeezed and BANG! The buck turned and ran, i knew i hit him and he faded over the hillside. I waited about 15 mins and finally met up with my partners and told them what happened. We worked are way over to where i shot the buck , hoping to find him laying over the hill. Coming over the crest of the hill and i dont see him, we searched back to where he was standing and we couldnt distinguish any blood cause of all the tracks. I thought the worst, but began to backtrack in my mind knowing that i hit him. We walked in circles along the bush and back to where he was shot to find him laying stone dead 25 yards away in tall grass from where i shot him. After numerous high 5's and pics, it was a great way to start the day.

Let me know what you think of him

wohoo
